Video Editing For Beginners: Matrox RT.X10
Capturing: Transferring Raw Material To The PC
Camcorders that are connected to the editing system using FireWire have a critical advantage: timestamps or markers, set by pressing the Record and Stop buttons, come in handy. With the appropriate software, the user can pick out individual scenes (clips) from the DV tape and make separate files of them. Later on, the order of the clips can easily be changed. The Matrox media tools included provide this feature.
Choosing the folder for capturing film.
Capturing from the DV camera: clips are individually saved and numbered consecutively.
Mining the video stream for freeze frames: saving in standard graphic formats.
