Sony Xperia Z Able to Take 999 Pictures in 68 Seconds

Sony's Burst Mode for the Xperia Z, which it says allows users to take an unlimited number of images at 10 frames per second with a 9-megapixel resolution, is able to take 999 pictures in 68 seconds.

The smartphone itself sports a 5-inch full HD screen that produces a pixel density of 441 PPI, accompanied by a 13.1-megapixel Exmor RS camera situated on the device's rear.

Sony's Xperia Z also features a microSD card slot and an HDMI port, with the device powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, as well as 2 GB of RAM. It'll launch with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, with an upgraded version of Google's platform due soon after.

The handset, which will form a lineup alongside the Xperia Tablet Z, is due for a worldwide launch during 2013's Q1. For more on the smartphone, visit our CES hands-on impressions.

Seems like marketing jargon thats saying we have a camera thats not fast enough to take movies at any reasonable FPS so we are just going to sell it as a "fast picture taker".

Who would ever utilize such a feature? Would you not just take a video and edit frame by frame if you wanted? Think of all the pictures that you'd have to go through in your gallery...

Marketing kills me sometimes. Actually, most of the time.

    Maths is great!
    10 fps * 68 sec = 680 pictures, not 999...
so if we are taking pictures at a lower resolution to achieve 14.69 fps then what resolution is it?
