Viewsonic Launches Two Budget-Friendly LED Displays

Viewsonic is launching a 1080p, 21.5-inch display for a wallet-friendly price.

Having a nice big LED back-lit display does a pretty tremendous job in enlightening your gaming experience. Fortunately for those who are still operating on CRT monitors or low-resolution LCDs, prices on high quality LED displays continue to drop. The latest example comes from Viewsonic's two new displays headed towards North American retailers later on this month.

The first of two new budget-friendly displays from Viewsonic is the VA2212m-LED, a 21.5-inch panel boasting a 10,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a 1080p resolution. The smaller, slightly cheaper VA1912m-LED is a 18.5-inch panel with a 1,366 x 768 resolution screen and 10,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Both screens come with DVI and VGA inputs as well as a pair of 2W integrated speakers.

To go along with ViewSonic's new eco-friendly initiative, both displays are mercury-free and feature an eco-mode for lower power consumption and longer life. Budget conscious individuals will be happy to learn that the 21.5-inch display will be priced at $149 and the 18.5-inch display at $125. Both panels will hit the retail shelves by the middle of August.

    Any word on VESA mounts or rotation capabilities?

    I'm very tempted to take 3 of the cheaper ones and create a 3-way gaming set-up with each monitor in portrait mode. I'd opt for the 1080p ones but that's a lot of pixels for just one GTX 670, it could probably handle it but my frame rates would suffer. Also, I'm not rich and 50 bucks saved is still 50 bucks saved.

    20-inch LED monitors are regularly on sale for $99 or less, so what is so special about these?

    Seriously.... what did you think when the title "budget-friendly"???????

    Anyways.... I think they'll need to come down in price just a little bit more as there are monitors exactly like it for less by other competitors.

    chromonoidi think it would be a little bit idiotic to buy the 18.5" version... i mean, for 25$ more you get almost twice the resolution and 3 more inches
