ATI's Catalyst 6.1 driver available
ATI released the first driver update for 2006. Version 6.1 does not offer feature enhancements, but focuses on bugfixes instead.
According to the release notes, ATI has resolved issues in Battlefield 2, Everquest II, Word of Warcraft and Half-Life 2. Aside from games, improvements for Windows XP Media center, den catalyst Control center and hot-plugging a DFP display using the HDMI-DVI connector have been resolved, ATI said.
Nvidia is not standing still, either, and if we believe reports on various websites, the company may be offering H.264 decoding support with the release of the Forceware 85 series.
