Lenovo today announced a raft of new smartphones that it will reveal at CES in Las Vegas. First up is the Vibe Z, which is Lenovo's first smartphone with LTE support. Lenovo claims the Vibe Z is capable of offering up to 50 Mbit/s upload and up to 150 Mbit/s download.
The Vibe Z packs a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display (400.53 PPI) and runs on Qualcomm's quad-core Snapdragon 800 clocked to 2.2 GHz with 2 GB of RAM. There's also up to 16 GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with f1.8 aperture and a 5-megapixel camera up front. The whole thing runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Presumably, Lenovo's own apps will also come pre-loaded on there, too.
Starting at $549, the Vibe Z is available starting in February in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and the Philippines. No word on North American availability just yet, but we'll keep you posted.
Measuring just 7.9 mm thick, the Vibe Z looks the part of a flagship phone. We'll have to wait until we go hands-on to see if the experience lives up to our expectation. Stay tuned!
