Marcus Yam served as Tom's Hardware News Director during 2008-2014. He entered tech media in the late 90s and fondly remembers the days when an overclocked Celeron 300A and Voodoo2 SLI comprised a gaming rig with the ultimate street cred.

Hmm, new motherboard/CPU combo? Or Sandforce. Decisions decisions.

Can't say this makes me happy. As an independent company, SandForce was able to cater to all makers on the marked (save from Intel, I guess). I would hate for LSI to hamper this and keep all future developments in house, or relegate only second-grade silicon to SSD makers.

Aww, my 3 pigs and marry an ugly daughter comment was removed when $370/$370M was finally corrected. Funny though that first comment remains. Guess the moderator didn't get that joke. lol. FYI, he means MB/CPU or Sandforce the *company* (at $370), I thought it was funny.
