SATA SSDs have increasingly become commodity items, as performance is limited by the interface and prices have dropped dramatically. But Team Group’s T-Force Delta Max Stands out as arguably the best-looking SSDs we’ve set our eyes on. With a deep glossy mirror finish, it doesn’t even need the RGB lighting to shine, and it easily outclasses the previous-generation Delta we reviewed last year

While not everyone will want or need RGB lighting on their SSD (for those who don't, the company's Vulcan drive is much more affordable), the LED lighting effects here look so good that nothing else even comes close. The Delta Max is one of the best-looking RGB components, period.

The drive's internal makeup is quite an interesting mix, pairing Silicon Motion's popular SM2258 4-channel SATA controller with some of Samsung’s last-gen-64L TLC V-NAND. This is a rare combination that performed well in our testing, similarly to most mainstream SATA SSDs. And, unlike some other RGB SATA SSDs we've tested in the the past, the Delta Max keeps cool, even under heavy workloads with the lights cranked up.

Priced at a premium, it looks and performs the part, but its support lacks. With its short 3-year warranty and low endurance ratings, Team Group’s T-Force Delta Max can’t match Crucial or Samsung’s offerings on that front. But its design is so unique and well-executed, we’d say the tradeoff is worth it if appearance is most import to you. You'll be hard-pressed to find any flash as flashy as the Team Group T-Force Delta Max RGB SSD.
