Sony Puts Together New PS3 Bundle for GTA V

Sony's new PS4 may have been the main event at last night's E3 keynote, but the PS3 got a little bit of love, too. Sony announced a brand new PS3 bundle at its E3 press conference last night, and this one will be available in just a few months' time.

The bundle is a celebration of the release of Grand Theft Auto V and includes a 500GB PlayStation 3, a Blu-ray copy of Grand Theft Auto V and a 30-day PlayStation Plus trial membership. The bundle goes on sale on September 17. While there's still no release date for the PS4, we do know the console is coming before the end of the year, which means this PS3 bundle will only enjoy a few months of 'current gen' status. That said, if you already know you're not going to buy a PS4 and are a huge GTA fan, then this bundle may be of interest to you.

Sony also announced a custom Grand Theft Auto V Pulse – Elite Edition headset that was produced in collaboration with Rockstar Games and features styling created specifically for Grand Theft Auto V. The headset will launch on the same date as the bundle, September 17, but will be exclusive to GameStop. It'll be priced at $179.99.

What is the significance of the Blu Ray copy? Additional content?

The headphones look cool, too bad they're insanely overpriced and exclusive to GameStop.

Would have been nice to see a more reasonably-priced version of them in the bundle, or as swag in a special edition of the game.
