Popular sandbox game Minecraft is now available for PS3. Publisher Mojang on Monday announced that the game would be arriving on Sony's PlayStation 3 via the official PlayStation blog.
Owen Hill from Mojang revealed that Minecraft: PS3 Edition would be launching today, December 17, for gamers in North America. He also cleared up some confusion surrounding Minecraft for PS3.
For one, Hill says Minecraft: PS3 Edition will come with everything from the other console versions and DLC texture packs, and skins are on their way to PSN soon. For another, there could be PlayStation-specific skins and texture packs in the future.
For those of you who are past the PS3 and are happily enjoying the next generation of PlayStation, Hill says a PS4 Edition and PS Vita Edition are in the works. Though development has already started, there's no release date beyond 'next year.'
