Before we move on to the overclocking comparison, a quick benchmark summary will help to determine the overall performance leader.
The only single graphics card motherboard in today’s comparison, ASRock’s P45TS-R took the lead in gaming, but only when using DDR2 memory. Buyers considering dual cards will want to take a closer look at the second place finisher, the MSI P45D3 Platinum or its less-expensive DDR2 counterpart.
The P5Q Deluxe from Asus ties with the MSI P45D3 Platinum in applications performance, followed again by MSI’s DDR2 motherboard.
MSI’s DDR3 motherboard leads in video encoding performance, followed closely by the DDR2-equipped P5Q Deluxe.
Combining all performance differences puts additional emphasis on the P45TS-R’s gaming lead. MSI assumes second and third place with its DDR3 and DDR2 motherboards, respectively.
