Benchmark Results: Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Notoriously light on graphics load, the processing overhead of a third GeForce GTX 480 is actually a detriment to performance at 1680x1050. With that said, even a second card is overkill, since a lone board delivers in excess of 150 FPS. And while the Radeons get beaten here, we’re again seeing more than 110 FPS as a worst-case scenario. That’s hardly a problem. Time to crank up the resolution…
We still see no reason the sling any of these cards together in Call of Duty at 1920x1200. The worst performer is putting up 100 FPS.
At last, there’s a nice speed-up attributable to SLI at 2560x1600, though still likely not worth the asking price of a second card. After all, just one board yields in excess of 90 FPS with AA cranked up. Note also that the third card isn’t hurting performance any more, but it’s definitely not pulling its worth in Benjamin Franklins.
