European Gamers Get Red and Blue DualShock 4 Controllers
A splash of color alongside all that black.
Sony's paid quite a lot of attention to the DualShock 4 controller that comes with its next generation of PlayStation. In fact, it was the first part of the PS4 that we actually saw. The company showed off the DualShock 4 at an event in February, leaving us in the dark about the console itself and instead focusing on the controller. The PlayStation 4 isn't available until November 15, which means the DualShock 4 won't be around until that date either. However, when it does launch, gamers shopping for an extra DualShock 4 controller will have a bit of a selection.
Sony Computer Entertainment this week announced that it will introduce new color variations in the form of "Magma Red" and "Wave Blue." These colors will be introduced at the same time as the PS4's European launch, which is November 29. They won't be available in the United States and Canada until later this year (despite the fact that the PS4 launches in North America before Europe). Sony offered nothing more specific with regards to the North American launch date.
These special red and blue DualShock 4s will be priced at €59 or £54 in the United Kingdom. Though a release date for North America has yet to be announced, we do know the controller will be priced at $59 in the U.S. and Canada when it does eventually arrive this side of the pond.
