High-luminance LED face slow growth in 2005

The global production value of high-luminance LEDs is projected to grow only 5% on year in 2005, following 37% growth last year, according to Strategies Unlimited, a leading market research firm for the high-luminance LED and GaN markets. The slow growth is due to stable demand for mobile phones and slower penetration of new applications including LCD TV-use backlighting, said the market research firm.
