A Special Deal on the NZXT Kraken X40 Closed Loop Cooler
Get a deal on a Tom's Hardware Smart Buy awarded liquid cooler!
The Tom's Hardware editorial team works tirelessly to evaluate as many components as possible, so you know the right parts to buy for your next PC. Earlier this month, we rounded up more cooling solutions in Four More Closed-Loop Liquid Coolers Take On The NH-D14.
We handed out our Elite award to Thermaltake's Water2.0 Extreme, and our Smart Buy honor to NZXT's Kraken X40. The Kraken's combination of low price and high performance made it a great value. It fits most systems that have a 140 mm exhaust fan mount and a vacant top expansion slot, which means that it fits most of today's enthusiast-oriented hardware.
As you've seen before, we're teaming up with Newegg to offer you an exclusive offer on NZXT Kraken's X40 (we weren't able to arrange special pricing on the Thermaltake unit, though it remains a highly-recommended product). Between now and March 22, 2013 you can get $20 off with our special promo discount code.
In what should be fantastic news for our loyal readers north of the 49th parallel, the offer now extends to Canada through Newegg.ca.
BU | Unit Price | Promo Code | Promo Code Discount | Shipping | Duration |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Newegg.com | $99.99 | TOMSKRAKENUS | $20.00 | Free Shipping | now ~ 3/22 |
Newegg.ca | $109.99 | TOMSKRAKENCA | $20.00 | Free Shipping | now ~ 3/22 |

You could just not be dicks and have the actual links. No need to be so greedy. -

maban xommYou could just not be a dick and support the sites you frequent by selectively disabling intrusive ads instead of blocking everything.I don't have the links blocked. I even clicked on them. Tom's is by far the most commercial of all the sites I frequent. I complain only because they have seriously gone overboard with their ads over the years. I just loaded up Tom's in another browser which doesn't have anything blocked. I was greeted with a very obtrusive full page ad.Reply -
bryonhowley Even with the discount it seems kinda high for a 140mm when I got the Corsair H100i for $100 on sale. I imagine in a small case that would be a better option but since I only run Full Tower or bigger cases in my rigs I do not have a problem with rad space.Reply

llspork Newegg also has the Thermaltake's Water2.0 Extreme on sale for $80 as well. I don't like rebate cards, but why not go for the "Elite award" unit for the same price.Reply

corvetteguy1994 just do custom water cooling. for the cheapest xspc kit on performance pcs is $144. thats what im using with another 120mm rad and a 7970 koolance waterblock and at idle my 2500k is 33 Celsius.....at 4.7ghz my 7970 is at 1125/1575 and will not exceed 46 Celsius even with the AC off, all in a nzxt phantom full tower.......closed loop coolers just aren't worth it (i had a thermaltake 2.0 pro) besides doing your own custom is so much fun.Reply
