Old Hand Meets Young Firebrand: ATi FireGL X1 and Nvidia Quadro4 980XGL
Solidworks 2001 Plus
All of the following benchmarks are based on real-world applications that are often deployed in the workstation segment. To run these tests, you need a fully licensed version of each program to enable execution of the benchmark model or script.

The SPEC benchmarks for Solidworks 2001 Plus use a complex model of a machine and a vehicle, among other things. In the case of the machine, the maximum number of vertices is 2.25 million.
A special curiosity: although the Quadro4 980XGL and the 900XGL run at the same speed, with its AGP4X interface, the 900XGL is quicker than the model with the AGP8X interface. ATi's FireGL X1 ranks only third.
The overall value is a more powerful indicator, however, as it shows the interaction of the driver with the other components of a PC system. The overall value represents the benchmark's total running time. The FireGL X1 is behind Nvidia's flagships once again.
