Conclusion
Despite its four years of service, the Frostbite 3 engine is still perfectly capable of powering games that are visually rich and fluid. Star Wars Battlefront II is proof enough.
Starting with a Radeon RX 570, you're able to take advantage of Ultra quality at 1920x1080, or even 2560x1440. Below that, you'll have to dial down the detail preset. It takes a GeForce GTX 1060 3GB to achieve a similar experience. That means GeForce GTX 1050 Ti cards top out at 1080p, which isn't bad at all for a mainstream graphics card in a AAA title.
As for CPU selection, a processor with at least four cores is vital.
Far From Perfect
But Star Wars Battlefront II isn't perfect. For starters, threading could be improved on Radeon cards under DirectX 11, and the addition of a DirectX 12 rendering mode seems more like an afterthought than a viable option. CPU utilization with GeForce cards installed seems way too high under DirectX 11 without any real reason, since frame rates aren't much higher than what you'd get from a comparable Radeon.
We're hopeful that future updates correct these little nuisances. Once again, we're forced to sadly conclude that the game being tested is still young, and in need of more patches to iron out its kinks.
