Report: Nvidia to Cut Prices in Nov. to Compete with AMD

DigiTimes reported that AMD's announcement of its next-generation Radeon R7 and R9 graphics cards may have prompted Nvidia to consider reducing the prices of its graphics cards in "late November" to better compete.

These price cuts are targeted at the mainstream $149 to $259 bracket. The site also reported that ''according to sources from graphics card players," the company will also be releasing "1-2 GPUs" to better defend the price segment.

While much of this is still speculation, price cuts between competitors is a natural part of the process. In the end, this sort of competition will only benefit the end user.

I'm happier about the potential cut to the 760 so I can get a second one ;)

My sli 580s are struggling like mad with some of these latest titles, and a ENB & +/- 200 mods Skyrim, and ENB+modded GTA IV. I'm pretty confident they'll hold up well with Battlefield 4, which is right around the corner. Must... hold... out... until next year lol.

Ok, so since we know that Nvidia will have a price cut.......people are going to wait a month......So why not just on the wagon now and enhance sales by cutting the price immediately? Obviously, this news must be a leak......so since this news is out, there might be a price cut sooner.........

Assuming they drop the titan down to $650 to compete with the 290x, I'm hoping we'll see 780 pricing around $400.

It's nice to see some competition to push thing along in the GPU market. Too bad the headline would be "Intel rolls over and goes to sleep to compete with AMD" on th CPU side of things.

I'm right there with you clonazepam, I'm technically holding off to see maxwell but the second iteration of it though is what I'm really waiting for. I'm pretty confident BF4 or any PC game for the next year or so won't really hit two 580's too hard unless the Res you play at then possibly it would, always depends on the res, and 3D but i have no interest in that.
