New Super-Thin AIO PC Coming from Lenovo
Lenovo revealed during CES 2014 a number of all-in-one desktop options, including the new Lenovo A740. The company says it's the thinnest AIO in its 27-inch class, measuring just 0.15 inches thick at its thinnest point. The A740 is also rather fashionable, Lenovo boasts, with the stand and display back cut from a single piece of aluminum.
The actual specs show a 27-inch screen with 178 degree viewing angles and 10-point touch input. Customers have the option of choosing the cheaper 1920 x 1080 resolution, or the more expensive 2560 x 1440 resolution option. Both are powered by a processor up to Intel's Core i7 "Haswell" chip, up to 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, and up to 1 TB of internal storage.
This Windows 8.1 AIO desktop also packs GPU options such as the Integrated Intel HD graphics and the latest GeForce GPU from Nvidia. Also on the spec list are JBL speakers and Dolby Home Theater, quad digital array microphones, three USB 3.0 ports, a 6-in-1 card reader, HDMI input, NFC and an optional TV tuner. Wireless AC, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 720p HD webcam are also part of the ingredients list.
"Powered for entertainment and media by up to NVIDIA GeForce graphics, JBL speakers and Dolby Home Theater, users can interact directly with their content on the Windows 8.1 10-finger touchscreen or even use its built-in motion and voice control," reads the product sheet. "The A740 can also fold down 90 degrees flat, making it easy to use the touchscreen."
The Lenovo A740 AIO Desktop will be available beginning June with models starting at $1,499.
