Roccat said on Thursday that both its Lua Tri-Button Gaming Mouse and the Sense Chrome Blue Edition of its High Precision Gaming Mousepad series will become available in mid-September. The mouse is actually old news, as it was first introduced during E3 in Los Angeles and Computex in Taipei back in June. However the mousepad is a new announcement, the perfect companion for Roccat's upcoming gaming mouse.
"The Sense Chrome Blue features a revised surface, more intense colors and is just 2-mm high," Roccat said on Thursday. "The special microcrystalline coating incorporated into the fabric surface is ultra-effective at minimizing frictional resistance between the mouse and the pad thereby noticeably improving the gliding capability of mice. At the same time there is hardly any noise: the mouse glides almost silently over the Roccat mousepad."
Measuring 400 x 200-mm, the mousepad was reportedly developed in conjunction with international pros. It's perfect for PC gamers who prefer lower mouse speeds, sporting a rubberized coating across the underside so that it sits perfectly and securely even on smooth surfaces. Even more, the difference between the desktop and mousepad should be less noticeable to gamers thanks to an ultra-low height of just 2-mm.
The Roccat Sense Chrome Blue High Precision Gaming Mousepad will be available in the U.S. starting mid-September for $19.99.
As for Roccat's hot Lua gaming mouse, this peripheral has been described as a "re-mastered" version of the typical gaming mouse, packing an advanced Pro Optic R2 sensor for a choice of seven DPI settings, an ultra-precise 2D scroll wheel, and a perfectly-balanced, ambidextrous V-shaped design. There's also an illuminated Roccat logo splashing an arctic blue wash on your favorite computing surface.

According to the June announcement -- which originally indicated a July/August release -- the mouse will offer 250, 500, 1000, 1250, 1500, 1750 and 2000 DPI settings. It will also provide a dedicated DPI button that let players easily change speeds in the heat of battle. Gamers can even program the button to switch only between the DPI settings they use most.
As for the peripheral's scroll wheel, every incremental step locks securely into place, so users won’t have to worry above over-scrolling. "When weapon 2 is what’s needed, a player won’t accidentally scroll too far and end up with weapon 3 or 4 – security that can mean the difference between life and death in a lightning-paced FPS," the company said. "Plus, the Lua’s advanced scroll wheel delivers solid tactile feedback, so gamers can actually feel their way to more accurate gaming."
Roccat told Tom's on Thursday that the Lua will now hit shelves in the U.S. mid-September 2012 for $29.99.
