Possible Google Nexus 5 Candidate Shows Up at FCC
Did Google's Nexus 5 just pay a little visit to the FCC?
Google's Nexus 5 made headlines earlier this week when it was accidentally revealed in a Google video showing off the new Android KitKat statue. In case you were curious, it looks like a bigger version of the Nexus 4. That's about all the video told us. However, the phone's arrival at the FCC? That's a different story.
The device, marked LG D820, bears a strong resemblance to the phone in Google's video, and Engadget points out that the software version is listed as "aosp_hammerhead-userdebugKyeLimePieFACTORYeng.sangjoon84.lee.20130618.015154." It's a little behind the times (Key Lime Pie is now KitKat), but it looks like this might be the Nexus 5 reporting for duty.
The FCC documents point to a Snapdragon 800 CPU, a 4.96-inch display (making this the biggest Nexus phone yet), Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, NFC, wireless charging, and support for CDMA, GSM, WCDMA, and LTE networks.

jn77 If this is a "Motorola" phone from the buy out of Motorola Mobility that google did, I won't even look at it. The last Motorola phone that was "innovative" was the Startac.Reply

@jn77 : The phone is an LG, as evidenced by previous reports of the nexus 5 being produced by the same company as nexus 4, and the serial number. I too have fond memories of the Startac, and I would have thought Google would have gone with Motorola, since they did buy them. Perhaps all they really wanted was Motorola's patents for fending off Apple's lawyersReply
