LED backlights to penetrate notebook market

LED backlights introduced by various TFT LCD panel and backlight unit (BLU) makers where on display at various flat panel display exhibitions this year, such as Finetech Japan & Display 2006 (April 19-21), Computex 2006 (June 6-10) and FPD Taiwan 2006 (June 14-16), according to research firm WitsView Technology. In addition to their applications in large size LCD TVs, several white LED backlights adopted for notebook panels were also demonstrated, according to the firm.
