InXile's Wasteland Sequel Coming August 2014

Twenty-six years later, Wasteland is finally getting a true sequel.

inXile Entertainment announced to its Kickstarter backers in a project update its release window for its Wasteland sequel. "We are very happy to announce the ship date for Wasteland 2: the game will be coming to you at the end of August of this year!" writes Brian Fargo in Kickstarter backer update #49.

Fargo and inXile took to Kickstarter back in October 2013 to ask backers for $900K to produce the project. The Wasteland project ended up raising over $2.9 million. Backers that pledged more than $55 into the Kickstarter received early access to the game via its beta, which opened in December 2013.

Should inXile be able to deliver Wasteland 2, it will join the ranks of the few high profile Kickstarter-backed games that have been able to deliver. Others include Stoic's Banner Saga and Harebrained Schemes's Shadowrun Returns.

Definitely looking forward to Wasteland 2. The first Wasteland was just a tad early for me, but I was playing games by the time Fallout 1 & 2 came out. $59.00 is a little pricey, but it's my understanding that the price will drop when it comes out. The $59 gets you some extra goodies at this point. Will get it when it comes out (or as soon as I am employed and can spare the cost).

You and me both, an XT was my first computer until I got myself a x286 that had been used as a Target floor model. I think I jumped from there to some sort of Cyrix chip. I forget. Being young and necessarily poor meant I was always way behind the bleeding edge.

Wasteland 2 looks good. Unfortunately I've switched from young and poor to old and poor. mmm...

Simple solution. Facebook can go fck itself. I do not have a Facebook account, nor any other social media account. I find it very sad that people are so lazy and impersonal these days that they can' tube bothered to send a personal email to someone. And in the same vein, they can't even put down their stupid phones when with others, and that's just plain rude and anti-social. Our gadgets have their place, but when you are with others, put your fcking phone away! And those people on Facebook whom you call friends are NOT really friends if they can' tube bothered to send you a one on one message once in a while.

mgilbert, while your angry tirade has an aspect of truth to it, your solution is to a problem no one presented. I am far from sure what this has to do with Wasteland 2.
