Equipment
There are VGA and DVI connectors, and also a built-in transformer and quality speakers. Eizo shows that decent speakers on a monitor are not impossible! The sound the L778 delivers is surprisingly good, especially the low-frequency reproduction. Music buffs will be disappointed, sure, but the speakers in the L778 are perfectly serviceable for video editing.
High Color
Eizo has lived up to its reputation. The L778 has fantastic color.

The color fidelity was excellent. We also made several calibrations at other color temperatures. The result at 9300K, for example, was just as good.
| Black spot | White spot | Contrast |
| 0.16 | 172 | 1075:1 |
No, you're not dreaming, and that's not a typographical error. The black level on this monitor is very simply one of the lowest we've ever seen. At 0.16 nits, we're getting close to perfection. To put the icing on the cake, the brightness is well calculated. At 172 nits, you won't need to do much tweaking before going to work on this monitor.
Eizo uses a C-boost system to improve the black level of its LCD displays. The system pre-loads pixels, similar to what's done on some LCD TV sets. It works very well on a computer monitor, as the incredible 1075:1 contrast ratio shows.

There's no doubt that the L778 is a professional monitor. Contrast was constant over the entire brightness range.
