Benchmark Results: Far Cry 2
Far Cry 2 has excellent background textures but little in the way of gore. It’s completely playable at 2560x1600 using a single GeForce GTX 280, but two GTX 295 units in Quad SLI take the bragging rights. The HD 4870 X2 CrossFireX solution appears to be CPU-bound.
Enabling anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering “unbinds” the Radeon HD 4870 X2, simply because the graphics processors can’t overtake the rest of the system at a 2560x1600 pixel resolution. The single GTX 280 is relatively smooth at our highest resolution, and two GTX 295 graphics units in Quad SLI mode maintain bragging rights.
