With Test Drive Unlimited, the 4850 showed variable performance, but weaker than with Call of Duty 4. It was equal to or better than the 9800 GTX + overall with antialiasing enabled, but otherwise it was behind them. You should note that its poor performance at 2560x1600 wasn’t due to a lack of memory, but to an instability that showed up as a stoppage (followed by recovery) of the display driver for a few seconds after the game loaded. And this problem, unfortunately, wasn’t isolated –we’ll run into it again later…
