Do The New 19" LCDs Pass Muster?

Soyo DYLMO19A

Remember Soyo, the motherboard guru? Well, just like Asus, Soyo has decided to give it a try in the market for LCD monitors. The company sent us its DYLMO19A for testing. On paper, it doesn't look that promising - a 16 ms TFT panel is nothing to get excited about. On the other hand, check out its price: only $260 for a well-finished LCD display. It may be worth looking at after all.

Design

At first glance, I was not really impressed by the specifications of the Soyo monitor. However, once out of the box, the Soyo DYLMO19A started to look rather good compared to its competitors in the same price league. It can compete without any shame with the LG1950, for instance. Although the plastic casing looks standard, there are some interesting details. The stand is made completely of metal, making it very stable and robust.

Ergonomics

Here, things take a downturn. Apart from tilt adjustment, there is not much to mention about the ergonomics of the DYLMO19A.
