Video Encoder And Decoder In One Chip
The move to the Philips SAA7108E chip is a progressive one. Previously, ASUS had always installed two chips from Chrontel and Philips on its Deluxe cards. The new SAA7108E, however, combines encoding and decoding features in one chip. The codecs for the SAA7108E are automatically installed with the drivers. You can also make use of the features together with Ulead VideoStudio and CyberLink VideoLive Mail, both of which are part of the ASUS package. Don't expect too much, though! The Asus V8200 Deluxe is no substitute for a professional video board, even if capturing and video editing features are available. The maximum resolution for playback on a television is 800 x 600 pixels.
