SMD voltage regulator.

Priced at approximately $215, this board is in the mid-range price bracket. It achieves above-average results in the performance ratings.

FireWire and Serial-ATA controller on board.

The connections leave no wish unanswered.

Impractical packaging: everything is crammed into the box.

Our assessment in brief: compared to the cost-effectiveness of Gigabyte and MSI, the Aopen AX4C Max 2 is very expensive. Although performance is acceptable, the BIOS version used for the THG test is not freely available, therefore making it impossible to use any memory modules from Corsair.
