Chaintech is the only manufacturer in the test field to equip a motherboard with two LAN connections that operate with Gigabit LAN and CSA technology (Intel 82547) and 100 MBit (Realtek 8101L). The unmarked pin contact strip and the lack of an additional RAID for the IDE interface deserve criticism - false economies have been made here. In a similar way to that of other candidates (BIOStar, Epox, Gigabyte and Abit), a BIOS update can be carried out easily by menu item. The THG test lab says: performance is above average and stability is guaranteed at all times.

Our assessment in brief: enough's enough! Out of all the test participants, Chaintech supplied the most wide-ranging selection of accessories, which saves the user considerable additional costs. Asus & Co. should take a leaf out of their book! The price - just under $280 - is, at any rate, justified in view of the volume of equipment provided.
