Osram Introduces LED For Use In Thin Displays

The new RGB MicroSideLED from Osram Opto Semiconductors features an ultra-slim design and delivers high brightness for in-coupling into light guides designed for backlighting in space-sensitive applications." The new RGB MicroSideLED is only 0.6 mm high and offers high brightness with a thin form factor for use in side in-coupling light guides used to backlight very thin displays such as mobile phones and laptop LCDs," stated Ellen Sizemore, director, LED/IR marketing, Osram "The SMT packaging makes it easier to specify high brightness LEDs into compact display configurations."
