Low-density NOR flash prices may trend upward

With two of the leading NOR flash makers, Intel and STMicroelectronics, working together on multi level cell (MLC) made NOR flash production, supply of low-density NOR may be further squeezed, according to industry sources.

Under the partnership agreement, Intel and ST will focus on production of higher densities, with the partners slated to first introduce 512 Mbit MLC packed NOR flash on 90nm node and then extending production to 65nm made 1Gbit NOR flash.
