TSMC volume producing on 65nm ahead of schedule
Next newsTaiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) R&D senior vice president Shang-yi Chiang stated that the foundry has already started volume production of handset ICs on 65nm process node, and Chiang expects to see the sales contribution from its leading edge processes - including 90nm, 80nm and 65nm node - to exceed NT$60 billion in 2006.
TSMC's 90nm, 80nm and 65nm process production contributed more than 17% to the foundry's total sales in the fourth quarter of 2005, noted Chiang, adding that the contribution is expected to grow every quarter this year.
